People who have lived in Colorado for decades have never gotten over the incredible views and amazing outdoor experiences available here. For out-of-towners, however, make sure that you’re treating them to some of the best views Colorado has to offer, starting in the Rocky Mountain National Park.

Rocky Mountain National Park will not disappoint hikers, campers, and sightseers. Keep in mind, summer is one of the busiest times for the National Park, so make sure you’ve planned ahead. If you’re hiking, plan to arrive early and carpool or use the provided shuttle service. If possible, beat the crowds by exploring on a weekday, and avoid the fee-free days if possible. If you’re camping, make sure you’ve booked your campsite well in advance.

####Hit the water:

Rafters are already excited for the spring melt because Colorado has had so much snowfall this year that the rivers will be running swiftly. If you’re looking for a little excitement, find your local rafting guide, grab a helmet and lifejacket, and hit the water. You’ll get the chance to see some of the great Colorado wilderness while having an active and entertaining afternoon.

If you’re looking for something a bit more low-key, the town of Grand Lake has recently been named one of the best lake towns in North America by TripAdvisor. You can relax on the beach, take a kayak tour of the lake, or rent your own paddleboard to try something new and fun. At the end of the day, you can retreat back to your cozy cabin or inn, of which there are plenty in Grand Lake.
